There were goals galore in the Cymru North tonight with 33 scored in just four matches.
George Peers was a four-goal hero as Airbus maintained their four-point lead at the Cymru North summit with an 8-3 thumping of reigning champions Holywell on Friday night.
It was a third straight loss for the Wellmen and a fifth reverse in six outings in all competitions – a run of misery completely alien to Johnny Haseldin’s side in recent seasons.
Airbus got off to an absolute flyer as three goals in the first 12 minutes via Nathan Williams, Peers and Darren Warren put them in command.
Mark Winsdale gave Town some hope by pulling a goal back with 39 gone, but six minutes into added time at the end of the first half, Peers made ir 4-1.
Peers completed his hat-trick in the 49th minute, then sub James Davies increased the lead to 6-1 before the hour.
Jamie Breese and Winsdale hit back for the visitors, but Holywell then had defender Michael Pearson red-carded in the 66th minute.
Soon after Peers missed a penalty, then Breese did the same at the other end, missing a chance to drag it back to 6-4.
Peers did find the net on 75 with his fourth of the night and 12th of the campaign.
Davies rounded things off with an eighth Wingmakers goal after 89.
Seven heaven for Bay, who made it 10 straight wins across all competitions and 13 matches undefeated.
The second-place Seagulls have picked up 28 points out of a possible 33 since losing 4-0 at home to Bangor 1876 in their first league outing of 2024-25.
Jamie Cumming and Gwion Dafydd put the hosts 2-0 up before a double in added time before the break from Dan Atkins handed Mike Wilde’s men a four-goal interval advantage.
Josh Carey, Thomas Marsh-Hughes and Ryan Kehoe added further goals for Bay in the second half. A fifth straight league defeat for Prestatyn leaves them next-to-bottom. They are only off the basement because Llay Welfare have had three points deducted.
This match was well poised at 3-2 to Denbigh before the hour, but the hosts then took control and romped to a 6-2 triumph.
Ben Lockley broke the deadlock in Town’s favour after just three minutes, but Harvey Bennett levelled on 20 for the Seasiders.
Keelan Williams restored the home lead on 35 before Nathan Brown ensured Dewi Llion’s side led 3-1 at the turnaround with a 44th minute net-finder.
Young sub Levi Montgomery, son of Llandudno record marksman Grant, made things interesting by notching Tudno’s second goal in the 55th minute.
However, Brown and Williams both completed doubles for the hosts before 16-year-old sub Tomos Salisbury added a sixth late on.
Some real thrashings were handed out in the Cymru North on Friday night, but at the Essity Stadium it was as close as you can get.
Buckley Town’s never-say-die attitude served them well when Liam Driscoll won a seven-goal stormer with a screamer seven minutes into added time.
A Daniel Burgess own goal handed Mountain an eighth-minute lead, but two strikes four minutes apart from Driscoll and Scott McHarrie edged the Bucks in front just past the half-hour.
Mike Hayes made it 2-2 in stoppage time at the end of the opening 45.
Rob Hughes converted a penalty on 56 to nudge the hosts in front, but Adam Smith restored parity on the hour.
Five minutes over the 90, Callum Humphreys was red-carded for Asa Hamilton’s away side, but there was still time for the 10-man Bucks to win it with that Driscoll special.
