Flint Town United have boosted their squad by signing another two quality young players.
Goalkeeper Ruby Stevens arrives at the Essity from Airbus UK Broughton, while Mia Warburton returns after a year out of football and makes the Silkwomen her first senior team.
Ruby, 18, represented Airbus at academy, under-16 and U19 level before making her first team debut early in the 2022-23 season.
She went on to become a regular in the tier 2 Genero Adran North for the Wingmakers and also played in the NEWFA Challenge Cup final in a 3-0 loss to Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Ruby remained a first team regular last season, which ended with Airbus being relegated to tier 3. Despite a fair few defeats for her team over the campaign, Ruby’s performances almost always received good reviews. She also continued to turn out for the under-19s.
The young keeper featured in Airbus’ first three games of the current campaign before deciding on a move to Flint, where she will provide good competition for Becky Bott.
Having already gathered plenty of tier 2 experience, Ruby will be more than familiar with the standard Flint now play at.
In all, Ruby made 41 first team appearances for Airbus.
Mia Warburton, 16, is a promising midfielder who has previously played for Flintshire Schools, Wrexham Development and Airbus at junior level.
After a year out of football, FTU will be Mia’s first senior team and she’s already become a great addition.
