Ten fabulous facts about Flint Town United women’s team captain Ruby McGilloway

  • Her date of birth is May 8, 1998. She shares a birthday with well-known Canada forward Jordyn Huitema, who also plays for Seattle Reign.
  • Ruby has spent more years of her life playing netball than football.
  • Her brother is Brady McGilloway, 24, who currently plays for Cymru North champions Holywell Town.
  • On September 15, 2019, Ruby made history when she scored Holywell Town women’s first-ever competitive goal. The Wellwomen lost the game 14-1 to Mountain Rangers in North Wales League Division Two.

  • In the shortened 2019-20 season, Ruby was Holywell’s top scorer with four goals.
  • Ruby joined NFA in 2022-23 and netted seven goals over the season.
  • In 2023-24, Ruby signed for Flint Town United. She became captain and scored a career best eight goals in a season for a team which won the North Wales League East Division title with a perfect 12 straight wins.
