Expect Simon Davis to be a busy man all year round from now on!

Mr Davis has just been appointed the new general manager of Caernarfon Town Football Club.

However, in the spring and summer months, he is also chairman, player and groundsman of Clwb Criced Caernarfon.

As part of a major shake-up for the Cymru Premier, the FAW announced in April that clubs will be given funding over three years to help support development, including a grant programme for full-time roles such as general managers.

Elite club development managers will be provided by the FAW with the aim of helping clubs to modernise and professionalise.

Caernarfon today revealed the name of their new GM.

A statement said: “We are excited to announce that Simon Davis has joined us as our General Manager.

The full-time role is part of the FAW’s strategic plans for Cymru Premier League clubs, and we believe it is a an important development for us. Simon has 36 years experience in the banking sector and our chairman, Paul (Evans), is delighted to have him on board.

“He said: ‘We feel that the FAW’s incentive to employ a full-time general manager is an exciting development for us. We were really pleased to have had a very high calibre of professional applicants for the post, which we hope is a reflection of where we are as a club.

“I hope that our supporters will feel that we are developing the club on a yearly basis and the next big step for us is to become more professional in everything we do. We have spoken at length with Simon and we are really excited at having someone of Simon’s experience and expertise at our club. “

Datganiad – Cyhoeddi ein Rheolwr Cyffredinol

Rydym yn hapus iawn i gyhoeddi bod Simon Davis wedi ymuno â ni fel ein Rheolwr Cyffredinol.

Mae’r rôl llawn amser yn rhan o gynlluniau strategol CBDC ar gyfer clybiau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru, a chredwn ei fod yn ddatblygiad pwysig i ni. Mae gan Simon dri deg chwe blynedd o brofiad yn y sector bancio ac mae ein cadeirydd, Paul, yn falch iawn o’i gael yn y clwb:

“Rydym yn teimlo bod cymhelliad CBDC i gyflogi rheolwr cyffredinol llawn amser yn ddatblygiad cyffrous i ni. Roeddem yn falch iawn o fod wedi cael safon uchel iawn o ymgeiswyr proffesiynol ar gyfer y swydd, a gobeithiwn ei fod yn adlewyrchiad o’r sefyllfa bresennol ni fel clwb.

Rwy’n gobeithio y bydd ein cefnogwyr yn teimlo ein bod yn datblygu’r clwb yn flynyddol a’r cam mawr nesaf i ni yw bod yn fwy proffesiynol ym mhopeth a mae gael rhywun o brofiad Simon yn ein clwb am ein helpu i wneud hyn.”
