ARDAL NORTHERN REPORTS AND TABLES UP TO SEPTEMBER 28

ARDAL NORTH WEST

CPD Rhyl 1879 2-1 Llanrwst United

As is always the case against Llanrwst, this was a hard task for Rhyl, but the Lilywhites emerged victorious to edge into second in Ardal North West.

The visitors controlled the opening stages as the ever-dangerous Conor Davies caused problems for the home team’s backline.

The game would turn on its head when visiting goalkeeper Cian Williams wrestled front man Jonny Bravo to the ground, referee Nathan Bowker pointing to the spot.

Up stepped club captain Reece Fairhurst who made no mistake with a left footed drive into the bottom right-hand corner – 1-0 with just 7 minutes played.

Despite conceding an early goal Llanrwst continued to threaten, with their pressure eventually paying off in the 28th minute when Joel Morgan Jones on the edge of the box struck a fierce effort through a crowded penalty area to make it 1-1.

In the 42nd minute recent recruit Dylan Proctor put Gareth Thomas’ men in front again with a left footed strike past keeper Williams.

The second half continued in a similar vein with both sides having spells of dominance. The hosts had numerous chances to increase their lead on the break as Llanrwst pushed for the equaliser, but there was no further scoring.

Connah’s Quay Town 0-1 Llannefydd

Town were beaten for the first time this season, Llion Morris grabbing the winner from a David Lawson-Cooke assist after 12 minutes.

Llannefydd had team manager Ally Stubbs dismissed from the bench for a second yellow card after just five minutes. Lewys Turner was shown a straight red for the visitors on 51, but the 10 men held on for a notable victory

It stayed at 1-0 until the 89th minute, when Ifan Mansoor equalised.

The Colliers came out on top in the battle of the league’s bottom two sides at Treflan.

Brothers Niall Freeman and Tom Freeman led the Chirk line well in the first half. Niall notched Chirk’s first goal on 18 minutes after good work from Tom.

Llansantffraid almost equalised immediately when they hit the bar from close range. Chirk squandered numerous chances before Cameron Roberts hit their second on the stroke of half time to make it 2-0 at the interval.

Llansantffraid came out fighting in the second half and only a good near post save from Chirk keeper Jack Morgan kept them out. Chirk failed to repeat their first half performance and it was the home side in the ascendancy.

However, Chirk’s defence held firm with youngsters Dylan Northall and Ashton Valentine putting in a good shift in the full back positions.

Llansantffraid pulled a goal back on the hour direct from a corner.

The home side pushed for the equaliser but Chirk held on to claim all 3 points.

A goal-crazy affair at Lant Fields saw Kerry emerge victorious with a bizarre 8-4 scoreline.

A Scott Reeves double on 27 and 90 minutes, the second a penalty, clinched another three points for improving Rhos.
