Stand-in goalkeeper Amy Mano produced a player of the match performance as Bangor achieved a no-score draw against a Flint side which had begun the season in great goalscoring form.
Mano, usually a defender, replaced the injured Catrin Roberts between the posts and came up with a number of crucial saves. Her opposite number, Becky Bott, achieved likewise for Flint.
There were doubts about the match being on with the terrible weather, but the referee gave the go ahead and a fine contest ensued with chances at both ends.
Bangor manager Aron Griffith said: “Brilliant game of football, both teams turned up today wanting to win. Both battled well and made it a football match worth watching. Flint showed us why they’ve being promoted to the Adran Leagues.
“I do believe we had a number of spells where we created chances, especially in the dying stages of the game when we had a chance to steal all the points but it wasn’t meant to be. The girls showed us today why we’ve worked hard to get where we are. Each week i’ll praise the girls as they will fully deserve it.
“Big match next weekend for us in the Welsh Cup against Llandudno. It’s a game which I expect the girls to give it everything and who knows what can happen, magic of the Welsh Cup.”
Captain Ruby McGilloway said: “We were gutted to not get that goal as we felt we deserved a win, but so pleased to get a point still.
“Kaelyn (Williams( had a few great chances, one late chance just skimming the cross bar.
“Rosie (Hughes) also had some great chances. Bangor knew she was a big threat, but we couldn’t finish from the free kicks she took as we were literally playing in puddles.
“Some amazing saves from our Becky (Bott) as always, shots from Mia Roberts and Ashleigh Jones testing her.
“Once again a solid performance from defence (Taylia Chaloner, Charlotte Walters, Alaw Jones, Chloe Hughes) then midfield worked hard running from box to box and the rest of our attackers putting the pressure on to force mistakes.”
