Hardly a surprise, but Airbus UK Broughton have celebrated a win double in the JD Cymru North Manager and Player of the Month awards for July and August.
The Wingmakers, who lead the tier 2 north table by six points after recording seven straight league wins, and boast 11 consecutive victories in all competitions, deservedly feature prominently in the early-season prize-giving.
Manager of the Month is Airbus chief Mark Allen, whose team won six out of six in the league during July and August, kicking off with a 7-0 caning of Denbigh Town.
Allen, who was appointed boss at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium in April 2023, captained Airbus during a distinguished Welsh Premier career which saw him make a total of 385 (+34) appearances, scoring 30 goals.
A central defender and ex-Watford reserve, he signed for Cefn Druids from Bangor City in December 1999, joining Newtown for 2004/5.
Allen transferred to the Wingmakers in November 2006 and spent six seasons with the club as a player before becoming part of the academy staff for a number of years and later a coach.
Airbus striker Danny Warren was named Player of the Month.
After two prolific seasons in the JD Cymru North with Mold Alexandra, Warren made the switch to Airbus in the summer and hit the ground running with seven goals and three assists in six league games during July and August.
In all, Warren had seven seasons with Mold, which saw him score 179 goals in 187 games. That sort of form made him a prime target for ambitious Airbus in 2024-25 and that faith has been handsomely reapid so far.
