Four-goal hero Connor Owen guided Intermediate Cup holders Gwalchmai into the next round with a magnificent win away to a Llansannan side which had not lost a single game previously this season.
Owen, 19, who has notched a total of 68 goals in the past two seasons for the Maes Meurig club, is already on seven for the current campaign after his magnificent quadruple at Cae Chwarae Maes Gogor on Saturday.
Gwalch got off to a fast start when Owen produced a lob from outside the box on his weaker foot which left the keeper helpless and made it 1-0 after just four minutes.
Llansannan equalised shortly after via Osian Audley from a goalmouth scramble.
The islanders were back in front in the 30th minute when Marc Evans’ sweet free kick was parried on to the crossbar by keeper Dafydd Evans, but Owen reacted first to head in the loose ball.
Leading 2-1 at half time, Gwalch came out powerfully for the second period, producing some nice moments on the ball and playing tidy stuff in tight areas.
On 63 minutes it was 3-1 when Owen completed his hat-trick, latching onto a ball over the Llan defence, taking a fantastic touch on his right boot and then firing with his left into the bottom corner.
Gwalch earned a penalty after 70, but Evans’ effort was saved by his namesake.
Not long after Llan pulled one back through Lewys Jones and suddenly there was just a single goal in it.
Gwalch reacted instantly with an 80th minute fantastic long-range hit from Cian Glyn Owen for 4-2.
Connor Owen pocketed his fourth and Gwalch’s fifth before seven minutes into added time Llan scored a consolation via a header from Robert Hurst.
Overall, it was a great performance from the holders which included a fantastic debut for Ieuan Lloyd, a midweek signing from Llangefni Town.
Meilir Rowlands (2), Aled Hughes and Connor Roberts shared the goals which put Bontnewydd into the next round.
Two goals apiece from Loui O’Carroll and Joe Carey, plus singles from captain Rob Parry and Aaron Boyle ensured Bow dished out a crushing defeat on fellow tier 4 side Llanrug.

Justin Williams’ hat-trick helped Boded storm into the next stage of the Intermediate Cup.
Shaun Jenkins also made the scoresheet for the hosts, Owen Pritchard replying.
Three first-half goals were enough to edge this cup tie in Glantraeth’s favour.
