CPDM Y Felinheli have a number of exciting new signings to announce.

The two-time North Wales Coast Challenge Cup winners, who finished third in Tier 2 Genero Adran North last season, will be aiming for even further improvement in 2024-25.

The new faces include:

Ellie Sian Jones

Superb Anglesey-based attacking player who returns to Y Felinheli, where she first emerged as an under-16 star in 2019-20.

The 20-year-old joined Amlwch Town in March 2022 and went on to score a tremendous 33 goals in 46 league and cup appearances for the islanders, including three hat-tricks.

In 2022-23, she netted 16 times in 20 outings for Amlwch in the North Wales Women’s League.

Ellie was also in the Ynys Môn squad which impressed at the 2023 Island Games in Guernsey.

Danielle Barnfield

For someone still so young aged just 25, Danielle brings masses of experience fo the table.

In 2013-14, she captained Caernarfon Under-16s to a magnificent quadruple, the highlight winning the FAW Under-16 Girls Welsh Cup Final in Newtown.

During this time, Danielle was selected for a Wales national training camp, represented the NWCFA League at junior level and played for the regional development team (North Wales).

She soon became a key member of the Caernarfon Town senior ladies side and in 2015-16 was in the squad which landed the Betty Pickering Cup.

Then in 2016-17, she helped Caernarfon storm to the North Wales Women’s League title, winning 18 out of 20 matches and scoring 120 goals while conceding just 13.

Town made it a double by retaining the Betty Pickering Cup. Danielle contributed nine goals in all competitions.

Caernarfon were promoted to the Welsh Premier Women’s League and Danielle enjoyed her first taste of top flight football.

Danielle returned to football in 2019-20 with North Wales League Division Two side Mountain Rangers.

In 2021-22, she joined CPDM Bangor and over two seasons netted 19 goals in 30 games, leading the team which won the North Wales League as invincibles in 2022-23.

She took a break from football last season, but is back with tier 2 club Felinheli.

Llywela Siriol Edwards

Top-scorer for Corwen in their first season in the North Wales Women’s League, notching 12 goals in Division Two in 2018-19.

She stayed at the club in the shortened 2019-20 campaign, but later moved to South Wales to study law.

In 2021-22 and 2022-23, she represented Cardiff Wanderers in the South Wales Women’s and Girls League Combined, scoring a fantastic 52 goals in 39 matches in all competitions.

Last season she joined Taffs Well of SWWGL Division One, notching up six goals in three games.

She has now moved back to North Wales – and Felinheli are the lucky ones to secure the 25-year-old’s services.

Sioned Williams

Top quality goalkeeper back at Y Felinheli where she spent many successful previous seasons.

Three girls have also joined Felin from Caernarfon Town – Seren Ellis, Elsi Williams and Aleysha Powell.

Felinheli manager Aaron Jones-Evans said: “We as a club would like to welcome all the players who have signed for us this season, a good mixture of experience and youth! The club is going through a bit of a transition this season and really concentrating on integrating the new talent that have joined us.

“We look forward to giving all these players a taste of tier 2 football but also working on developing them into the Felinheli way. The club is always ready to give local young talent an opportunity and give experienced players an opportunity to express themselves.

“We can’t wait to see what they can offer at this level and we have every faith that all of them will have a positive impact on the club.”
