Wales NC North U19 captain Will Norman’s stunning 153 was the highlight of a drawn encounter held over two entertaining days of red-ball cricket at Neston.
It was a career-best score for Norman, who plays his weekend club cricket for St Asaph in the North Wales League Premier Division.
The Pro Cricket Academy side contained a few North Wales players, and it was they who won the toss and opted to bat, scoring 297-8 declared off 70 overs, Hawarden Park’s Evan Shaw taking 3-39, Buckley’s Ollie Fellows 2-32 and Tom Wilson 2-34.
Wales NC North hit back with 343 all out, Norman’s amazing innings coming off 97 balls and including 19 fours and seven sixes.
Brymbo’s Sam Aplin added 51 and Fellows 32.
Pro Cricket Academy were 41-5 in their second innings but recovered to make 178 all out, Brymbo’s Adam De Rycke pocketing 4-31 and Fabio Franco of Northop 3-33 for WNCN.
Wales NC North were 49-2 off seven at the close of the match.
