With Pwllheli Panthers not in action last Wednesday (July 3), Arfon Ladies grabbed top spot in Division One with a narrow 20-16 win over battling Bethesda.
Arfon took the first quarter 7-2, but Pesda edged the second and third, 4-3 and 6-5, to trail by just two goals entering the last.
That final session went 6-4 in Arfon’s favour, but what a great effort from Bethesda, whose Elliw Jones was outstanding.
Dolgellau scored well in all four quarters – 9, 7, 9 and 11 – to see off Holyhead 36-24. The Holy Islanders did well to draw the third 9-9 and lose the second just 7-6.
Ffion Jones excelled for Walis Bryncoch in a 38-15 success against Dyffryn, while Fflamau outscored Tim o Walis 37-28. Meg Thomas was on top form for Fflamau, Manon Thomas superb for Walis.
Menai Mavericks sit third after an emphatic 38-22 victory over Primos.
Leaders Rebals Refail made it six straight wins with a 28-16 result against Thunderkittens.
In the Llyn derby, Pwllheli Hustlers also kept their 100% record with a narrow 25-21 victory versus Porthmadog.
The teams were inseparable at half time, the first two quarters ending 5-5 and 4-4 to make it 9-9.
Pwllheli won the third 11-6, and this proved decisive, as although Port edged the last 6-5, Hustlers took the points.
Walis Warriars comfortably outgunned Bethesda Bach 27-4, Walis Tomos Parry stormed past Ffestiniog 40-8, Llio Jones a shining light for the winners, Ellen Thomas showing well for the losing side, and Genod Walis pipped PYG Cats 26-23 after a big last quarter.
Thundercats led at the end of each of the first three sessions, 8-5, 15-12 and 22-18, but Walis controlled the last 8-1 to seal a thrilling win. Beca Jones was exceptional for the Thundercats.
