Asa Thomas of Trearddur Bay has won the Bob Brodie Trophy for the second season running.

The 33-year-old striker finished the campaign on 60 goals from just 38 appearances for the undefeated Tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division title winners.

During the season, Holyhead man Asa passed the 700 career goal mark, making him North Wales’ all-time top scorer.

He ended 2023-24 on 715 goals compiled over 16 seasons in senior football. During the campaign he hit the 300-goals milestone for Trearddur Bay.

The annual Bob Brodie Trophy competition honours the No 1 marksman in Anglesey senior football each season.

It is named in tribute to Bob, a popular player and manager on the island over many years, who sadly passed away in 2011.

Asa is the fourth player to win the BBT twice. No-one has won it three times.

In joint second place on 40 goals apiece this season were Menai Bridge Tigers net-finder Callum Graves and Kaine Bentley of Gwalchmai.

It was a dream season for Graves, a key member of a high-scoring Menai Bridge side which finished runners-up in the North Wales Coast West Premier.

His 40 goals came in 32 appearances and he notched five hat-tricks.

Bentley, aged just 20, was phenomenal in his debut season for Gwalchmai, his 40 goals coming in just 33 games and including seven hat-tricks.

He was joint-third top scorer in the Premier Division with Graves on 30 goals apiece.

Asa Thomas was second on 45, while Llanrug United’s Jamie McDaid topped the chart with 47.
