An open date in the North Wales Coast League fixture calendar provided the perfect opportunity for Grove Park Bowling Club of Rhyl to play host to New Brighton Quarry Vikings, Wallasey, for the very first time.
Grove Park, under the captaincy of Des Manifold, ended up worthy 9-5 winners against their Birkenhead & Wirral League counterparts. Both clubs eagerly look forward to the return fixture at New Brighton Cricket Club on Sunday 28 July.
Grove Park Bowling Club currently fields two teams in each of three respective league competitions in addition to a successful ladies’ team operating in the Clwydian Ladies League.
Playing members enjoy social as well as competitive bowling with regular internal singles and pairs competitions on Sundays.
Additionally. the popular Grove Park Annual Open Mixed Seniors Triples Competition is being staged on Sunday 6th October 2024, 9.30am draw for 10am start – limited to 16 teams.
