In the Division A Cup Final, St Asaph A overcame Highbury A 7-4 at Bryn Newydd.
Jason Jones and Jack Dougal were top blocks for The Citizens with respective 21/5 wins comfortably ensuring victory despite the efforts of Mel Higham 21/7 for their Prestatyn rivals.
Sunny Rhyl beat Mochdre Park 7-4 at Rhuddlan to secure the Division B Cup. Steve Harris 21/6 and Garth Evans 21/9 were the Botanical Gardens team’s top blocks in a fine victory.
The Division C Cup Final featured two East Parade teams. East Parade B overcame its club A team 7-4 at Dyserth. Jean Withe and Ged Ironmonger both recorded 21/5 wins for the supposed underdogs in spite of the great efforts of A teamers Jim Lester 21/4 and Tom Williams 21/5.
Two Grove Park teams featured in the Division D final at St Asaph with a similar outcome.
Grove Park B triumphed over Grove Park A after a close encounter as a result of a solid team effort, in spite of herculean wins by Dave Cawley 21/2 and Dean Burrow 21/4.
Food for thought indeed for East Parade and Grove Park selectors when they take time to review their respective team composition for next season.
