NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

Brymbo (14) 152-3 Menai Bridge (1) 151-10

Connor Davies (57 not out) and Jason Underwood (43 no) produced key innings as Brymbo romped to a seven-wicket success over Menai Bridge.

Put into bat, the Anglesey visitors slumped to 21-3 before recovering to post 151 all out in 48.5 overs, Robbie Jones top-scoring with 50 and Blade Crane adding 40.

Joseph Norman produced superb figures for the Steelmen of 4-21 off 10, Adam De Rycke 2-31 and Sam Aplin 2-44.

Brymbo got home on 152-3 off 39.2, Davies and Underwood the mainstays.

Promoted Gwersyllt Park celebrated their first win as a Premier side in a thrilling contest at Ystrad Road.

Asked to bat, the Wrexham area side made 160-7 off 50 overs, Lewis Cole shining brightest with 47 not out, while pivotal skipper Iroshan De Silva struck 36, Harrison Jones picking up 3-29 off 10 for the hosts.

In reply, Denbigh were in trouble on 107-7, but they managed to add another 50 runs for the loss of just two more wickets, only to end up four short of victory on 157-9.

Opener James Du Toit hit 41, while down the order Andy Thomas (25) and Stuart Griffiths (25 no) gave the home team hope. De Silva’s run out of Thomas was a vital wicket.

Neil Pearson (2-20), Cole (2-27) and De Silva (2-28) all played important roles in keeping the Denbigh total down, as did Ryan Collier with 1-27 off 10.

Gresford (0) 113-10 Mochdre (15) 118-1

Early pace-setters Mochdre made it three maximum points victories in a row to start the season.

Gresford were inserted by the opposition and dismissed for just 113, Chris Ellwood 27, Owen Davies 5-44 and Joe Chaplin 2-18 from 10 for the visitors.

Mochdre eased to 118-1 in response to record a nine-wicket triumph. opener Alex Davies 64 not out and Matty Humphreys unbeaten on 31.

Northop (13) 153-6 Bangor (2) 83-10

Matthew Williams concocted a crucial 51 not out in Northop’s winning total of 153-6 off 50 overs at Flint Road, Franco Kasner 2-37 for the visitors.

The Citizens nosedived to 10-5 and 22-6 in their reply before eventually falling for 83 in total.

Calum Andrews was highest contributor with 25 for the away side, Andy Poynton a miserly 3-2 off seven and Romano Franco 3-24 for the home team, who won by 70 runs.

St Asaph (15) 159-0 Llandudno (0) 156-10

Duncan Midgley punished his former club with an unbeaten 86 as the champions continued their winning start to 2024.

Llandudno won the toss and batted, making 156 all out off 32.2, Kai Page best of the crop with 44, Gareth Goodson 3-25 and Dan Evans 3-28 for the hosts.

Saints coasted to 159-0 in just 23.2, Midgley’s 86 coming off 67 balls and including 14 fours and two sixes, opening partner Evans, another ex-Tudno man, ending on 51 not out.
