LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST – REPORTS, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17

LATEST TABLE

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2 Llannefydd 1

Captain Reece Fairhurst’s 77th minute strike clinched a deserved three points for Rhyl which keeps them at the Ardal North West summit.

It is as you were in the top three, with second-place Flint Mountain and Llay Welfare in third also winning, but all the Lilywhites can do is concentrate on themselves.

Alex Jones’ 38th minute goal from a Callum Parry assist gave the hosts a half-time lead.

Tom Jones brought an impressive and enterprising Llannefydd level on 52 minutes and it was not until the latter stages that Fairhurst’s strike from the edge of the box delivered the victory.

Bethesda Athletic 4 CPD Y Felinheli 0

Three massive points for Bethesda edged them a little further away from the bottom three.

Joe Todd began the scoring in just the second minute from an Onyx Bucknor assist.

It was then time for the Hughes brothers to take over as Pesda established a four-goal lead at the break.

Captain Osian Hughes, aged 22, netted on 15 minutes, Daniel Hughes, 20, made it 3-0 after 33 minutes and Noa Hughes, 18, struck close to half time.

Brickfield Rangers 0 Llay Welfare 1

Dan Lloyd’s 32nd minute goal was enough to settle a close-fought Wrexham area derby at Clywedog Park.

Third-place Llay have now won five league games in a row and are undefeated in 11 – nine victories and two draws.

Conwy Borough 0 Holyhead Hotspur 3

Fourth-place Hotspur made it six league victories in a row and 14 undefeated in all competitions after Wednesday’s triumph at Y Morfa.

It was 0-0 until late in the first half, Cory Williams breaking the deadlock on 44 minutes with his 22nd goal of the season, Dylan Summers-Jones supplying the assist.

Sion Phillips doubled the away lead in first half added time.

There was certainly no Manager of the Month curse for February/March winner Darren Garmey as his Hotspur side went on to score again in the second half, Summers-Jones netting for an eighth successive game and reaching 21 this term from a Jack Walsh assist.

It was a nice way for Summers-Jones to celebrate his own award of Cymru North Best Player for February and March.

A perfect night was somewhat tarnished when Hotspur top-scorer Williams received a red card on 84 minutes.

Hawarden Rangers 3 St Asaph City 3

A 92nd minute own goal from Ellis Blench ensured Hawarden claimed a share of the points at Gladstone Playing Fields.

Ryan Potts put Saints ahead on 10, but James Ratcliffe levelled things up after 40.

After the interval a Callum Murphy OG put Rangers in front with 64 gone, but soon after Iwan Jones was sent off for the hosts for a second yellow card.

Jake Walker then delivered a double on 69 and 79 for Asaph and it looked grim for the 10 men before they benefited from that second OG of the night.

Saltney Town 1 Flint Mountain 5

Mountain remain three points behind leaders Rhyl 1879 with four games in hand after an emphatic success at Saltney tonight.

Aden Shannon’s men made it seven league wins in eight starts to remain favourites for the Ardal North West title.

Aaron Simpson, Mike Hayes (2), Rob Hughes and Andy Brown provided the away goals, captain Leon Flatman having brought the Bordermen back into it at 2-1 after scoring on 71 minutes before the visitors took command.
