Striker Fflur Williams notched her second hal-trick of the season for a Felinheli side which bounced back in style from their recent narrow loss to champions Llandudno.
The game was held at Cae Seilo and for the first time since before Christmas the pitch was in a decent condition and play was able to flow through the 90 minutes.
It didn’t take long for the home side to get control, Williams rifling in a left foot finish after four minutes.
With 12 gone, an identical strike from Williams made it 2-0.
This Genero Adran North tussle continued in the same pattern with Felinheli dominating possession and Llanfair not posing much of a threat going the other way.
On 38 minutes Jenna Tugwell-Allsup produced a moment of magic to add to her highlight reel of quality goals this season, beating 3 players on her way into the opposition box and then firing an unstoppable shot in the top right hand corner.
Felinheli kept the pressure on with Fflur Williams going close twice only for goalkeeper Ffion Davies to make some excellent stops,
Tugwell-Allsup should have made it 4 and then 5 but was denied by last ditch defending on the line. The half finished with Felinheli three-up and in total control.
The second half did not change the pattern of the game, Felinheli with all the possession and restricting Llanfair to a couple of free kicks that never troubled keeper Catrin Beech.
Goal number four finally came through the excellent Catrin Evans. After some individual brilliance and some very tidy feet she got through into the box and lobbed the onrushing goalkeeper who hadn’t really done much wrong all game but again was beaten by some clinical finishing.
To close the game off Felinheli were awarded a penalty for a handball. Usual spot-kick taker Catrin Evans handed the ball to Fflur Williams to go for her hat-trick. She stepped up and made no mistake, slotting the ball to the keeper’s right to make the final score Felinheli 5 Llanfair 0.
Winning manager Aaron Jones-Evans said:
“Really happy with the result today, could have and should have scored a lot more but that’s just football sometimes. I was more pleased with the clean sheet the women kept, the back four dealt with everything that came their way and built a platform for the attackers to express themselves.”
Next up is the NWCFA Challenge Cup semi final at home to CPD Y Rhyl 1879 on April 10. Felin are holders of the trophy.
