CATCH-UP: Ardal North West – Dramatic win for Dolgellau, Radnor whip Cefn, six for Bow

ARDAL NORTH EAST REPORTS – FEBRUARY 17
Llangollen Town 1 Dolgellau Athletic 2
Gethin Evans’ dramatic 90th minute goal earned three points for third-place Dolgellau at Tower Fields.
The visitors played with intent throughout and had to remain patient with many chances not taken thanks to some terrific goalkeeping from Llangollen’s Ben Lloyd.
Main talking point in the first half was when Gerwyn Williams found himself one on one in the box, but was pushed in the back as he went to pull the trigger.
The referee deemed that to only be a yellow card.
Williams had two bites of the cherry when the first penalty was asked to be retaken after being saved initially, and his second attempt was then pulled wide of the post.
The second half commenced with Dol now playing up the slanted pitch and against the wind which proved to strangle the supply of goal scoring opportunties and a worry that the missed chances would come to haunt.
Dol battled tremendously and on 53 minutes earned another spot-kick when Ioan Roberts was fouled in the box.
Gerwyn Williams, with huge pressure on his shoulders, found the net make it 30 goals for the season.
Llangollen fought on and in the 80th minute won a penalty themselves when sub Dion James was controversially deemed to have handled.
James saw red and William Cooke converted from the spot for 1-1.
With the hosts having an extra man, there only looked like one likely winner from then on. A constant barrage from Llangollen tested Dol to the very end.
However, with 90 on the clock, Gerwyn Williams won a free kick which allowed the team a breather and a small opportunity to swing a ball into the box.
Dave Edwards delivered to find Gethin Evans at the back post to head across into the Llangollen net for the winner.
Dolgellau defended heroically in added time and held on for three superb points.
Builth Wells 1 CPD Rhos Aelwyd 1
A 96th minute equaliser from Bulls substitute Ciaran Price denied Rhos what would have been a cracking win on the road.
The visitors had grabbed a 55th minute lead through James Haynes, but couldn’t quite hold on.
Llandrindod Wells 0 Welshpool Town 0
Tremendous point for winless bottom side Welshpool against one of the league’s in-form teams.
Llanfair United 4 Penycae 1
Will Davies (2), Paul Griffiths and Sam Jones split the goals for winners Llanfair, sub Austin Owen with a late consolation for Penycae.
Llansantffraid Village 0 Bow Street 6
Big away win for Bow who are in ruthless form in front of goal in recent times.
After half time arrived with a 0-0 scoreline, Rhys Hughes (2) and Ifan Burrell put the visitors three-up within nine minutes of the restart.
Burrell struck again before the hour, then total disaster for Saints as they had George Durrell and Daniel Weaver dismissed on 62 and 67 respectively.
Dafydd Carruthers added two more goals to make it a profitable afternoon for Bow.
Radnor Valley 4 Cefn Albion 0
Quite an eye-catching result for Radnor against one of the teams expected to be pushing for the title.
Joe Price (3, 1 pen) was a hat-trick hero for the second-place hosts, with captain Lewis Morris also on the mark.
Albion had Nathan Williams red-carded close to half time.
