ARDAL NORTHERN REPORTS – FEBRUARY 10

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Flint Mountain 2 Bethesda Athletic 1

A third successive league win for Mountain lifted them to sixth spot in Ardal North West.

The hosts took the lead on 28 minutes after Mike Hayes was brought down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Tom Ruffer put away the penalty.

It remained 1-0 up to the interval, but Bethesda could consider themselves a little unlucky to be behind, having hit the bar and seen an effort cleared off the line.

Nine minutes into the second half, the visitors grabbed the equaliser they deserved through captain Osian Hughes, who bundled the ball home at the back post.

It looked like the game was heading for a draw when in the 88th minute, a Mountain corner was initially cleared, Jack Sconce delivered the ball back into the box and Hayes pounced to smash into the net.

Aden Shannon’s side also struck the woodwork three times in the latter stages.

Holyhead Hotspur 3 Pwllheli 3

Another great fightback from in-form Pwllheli saw them recover from 3-1 down to force a draw at the New Stadium.

Cory Williams scored the only goal of the first half in Hotspur’s favour after 12 minutes.

Steffan Toplis equalised a minute into the second period, but goals on 65 and 68 from Williams and Aron Hughes-Jones respectively put the hosts in command.

Toplis made it 3-2 on 74 and then with three minutes left ace veteran Carl Jones rescued a point for the away side, who were on a run of five straight wins entering this game.

Nantlle Vale 4 Hawarden Rangers 3

Vale were pushed hard by rejuvenated Hawarden at Maes Dulyn.

Jamie Jones put the home side one-up after three minutes, James Ratcliffe made it 1-1 on eight, but Cian Pritchard restored the hosts advantage with 15 gone.

Ashley Owen added a third for the Penygroes men on 37 and Owen scored again in stoppage time to give the hosts a big lead at the turnaround.

Rangers fought back determinedly after the break, Connor Parry and skipper Ellis Jones hitting back on 53 and 56 to cut the deficit to one.

When Nantlle’s Aled Williams was shown a red card on 59 minutes, things looked dicey for the home team, but there were to be no further goals and Vale moved back up to second.

ARDAL NORTH EAST

Bow Street 5 Penycae 1

Ben Davies (2), Sion Ewart, Tom Roberts and Ifan Burrell shared the goals in an emphatic victory for Bow Street.

Callum Smith provided the sole reply for Penycae, who had goalkeeper Sam Clark red-carded in the 22nd minute with the score at 1-1.

Dolgellau Athletic 3 Llandrindod Wells 1

Visitors Llandrindod’s recent impressive away form was halted at Cae Marian.

Ben Fisher’s opening strike and a double from top-scorer Gerwyn Williams settled the issue, Richard Powell replying for Wells.

In stoppage time at the end of the 90, Dol’s Paul Lewis was sent off for a second yellow card.

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 0 Builth Wells 1

Danny Ives pocketed the winner in the 97th minute of play.

The visitors had Lee James dismissed for a straight red offence after 88.

Penrhyncoch 6 Llangollen Town 0

The leaders proved unstoppable at Cae Baker, Dion Phillips with a first-half hat-trick before Cameron Allen made it four in added time.

Allen notched his second after the break and Phillips added a fourth.

Radnor Valley 4 Welshpool Town 1

Joe Price (2, 1 pen), Charles Beaumont and Lewis Morris delivered the goals which earned a comfortable win for Radnor over the bottom side.

Teilo Gittins-Turner hit back for the Lilywhites.
