FAW Reserve Leagues North – Denbigh deliver six, half-dozen for leaders Nantlle

FAW RESERVE LEAGUE NORTH TIER 1-2

Buckley Town 3-6 Denbigh Town

Report: Ollie Beech

Hat-trick hero Owen Herbert

Owen Herbert notched an 11-minute hat-trick for Denbigh in a nine-goal thriller at Deeside Stadium.

Liam Nash’s side came from behind in the first half before a staggering six goals in 12 minutes in the second saw the match decided.

Despite Buckley’s poor start to the campaign that had already seen them lose 10 consecutive league matches, they took a 13th minute lead through Will Weaver.

Kristian Pierce, who has just stepped down as first team assistant-manager and recently returned to the pitch, made it 1-1 on the half-hour via a Herbert assist.

It looked as if the sides would go into the break at a goal apiece, but Matthew Blake nudged the visitors ahead seconds before the half time whistle after Josh Griffiths played him in.

Half-Time: Buckley Town Reserves 1-2 Denbigh Town Reserves

The match went goal crazy early in the second half.

Six minutes in, Denbigh extended the lead via Herbert, who soon after made it a double.

However, moments later Buckley fired themselves back in it with two goals in as many minutes, Niall Griffiths and Owen Jones on target.

Any hopes of a miraculous home fightback were quickly quashed by Town and in particular Herbert, who completed his hat-trick just after the hour.

Rhys Lloyd appeared off the bench and added number six less than a minute later.

Chirk AAA 1-2 Connah’s Quay Nomads

Bradley Barnes made a welcome return to the scoresheet for Nomads with his first goal since returning from a lengthy injury lay-off.

Barnes broke the deadlock on 36 minutes at Holyhead Road via a Dylan Evans assist.

Brandon Edwards levelled for Chirk with 72 gone, but Caleb Hughes delivered an 85th minute decider.

Holywell Town Dev 3-3 Mold Alexandra

Jordan Waite rescued a point for Mold with an 89th minute equaliser.

Declan Clark handed Holywell a sixth-minute lead, Jacob Melo-Farina made it 1-1 after 11, Luka Graham restored the home advantage with 16 on the clock and it was 3-1 to the Wellmen at half time after Connor Thomas made the scoresheet.

Mold manager Malcolm Wareham was shown a red card on 44 minutes having already seen yellow shortly before.

Melo-Farina notched a second for Alex on 58 and it was late to Waite to bag the late leveller.

Porthmadog 1-3 Ruthin Town

Tom Griffiths, sub Gruffydd Hughes-Owen and fellow replacement Caelan Harms put Ruthin 3-0 to the good before Deio Hughes replied with a late consolation for Port.

FAW RESERVE LEAGUE NORTH TIER 3

Cefn Albion 3-0 Hawarden Rangers

Tyler Wilkinson, Joshua Foulkes and Jamie Foulkes delivered the goals which secured a home win for Albion.

Conwy Borough 4-2 Saltney Town

Two goals apiece from Bradley Williams and Charlie Martins were enough to book three points for the Boro.

Liam Moss and a Jack Doyle own goal provided the Saltney responses.

Nantlle Vale 6-1 Llangefni Town

Outstanding form again from runaway leaders Nantlle Vale, Aaron Griffiths (2), Rob Daniels, Hugh Jones, Daniel Bell and Llion Griffiths (penalty) sharing the home goals, five of which arrived in the first half.

Lee Lewis was Cefni’s sole marksman when the score was 5-0.
