Trearddur Bay remain a handy second-place in Development League West following Sunday’s win at Pentraeth.
On a heavy pitch, Pentraeth started the better and dominated the first 15 minutes.
Kian Zoller put the hosts ahead, which probably did Trearddur the world of good as it woke them up and after a reset they started playing football.
Cameron Buckley, Mike Jones and Noel Owen all made the scoresheet to ensure the visitors went in 3-1 up at the break.
Coming out for the second half, Bay’s tactic for the first 10 minutes was to clear their lines and push the opposition back to force errors. This seemed to work with Buckley grabbing his second of the day.
Bay then produced a change of formation and several substitutes came on as the visitors aimed to see the game out.
However, a mix up at the back let Zoller in to score Pentraeth’s second. The young home team showed plenty of character.
The youngsters of Bay also continued to run their hearts out until the end, grabbing a late goal through the returning Marcus Bell.
It was pleasing to see two young teams trying to play the game the right way.
This Sunday sees Trearddur Bay Development welcome unbeaten leaders Llanrug United Reserves at Lon Isallt, 2 pm kick off and support would be appreciated.
Four second half goals guided Nefyn to victory over a hard-working Gaerwen.
The deadlock remained unbroken until the 69th minute when Tristan Harrison struck for the Penwaig.
Luke Allaway doubled the lead on 81 and two late goals from Cian Goodman completed the job.
Cai Jones, Osian Roberts, Cian Adams and sub Diego Warburton shared the goals that earned second-place Llanfairfechan Reserves victory over Y Glannau Reserves at the Recreation Ground on Sunday.
Louis Gizzi put Y Glannau ahead on seven minutes, Jones levelled and Roberts made it 2-1 to the hosts before Richard Peskett equalised close to half time.
Adams put Town 3-2 up on 70 and Warburton clinched it after 85
