Mark Williams bagged a hat-trick as Llay Welfare went top of the table and maintained their unbeaten record for the season at Colwyn Leisure Centre today.
The Welly were in charge from the start, taking a five-goal lead into half time.
Michael Pritchard broke the deadlock on five minutes, then Steve Evans, manager of Colwyn Bay and former Wales international centre-half, made it two after 18.
Mark Williams grabbed his first on the half-hour, Kerry Howells added another three minutes later and soon after Ricky Evans, brother of Steve, made it 5-0.
The second half was scoreless until Ricky Evans brought up the half-dozen for Llay on 62 minutes, then Williams completed his double by netting after 70.
Mochdre hit back with two consolations, one from Craig Berry, but Welfare had the last word when Williams made it a treble on 88 minutes.
Llay manager Jonny Taylor said: “Playing on the 4g today suited us down to the ground as we play football, so it was perfect for us to get the ball down and move them.
“It was important to get a good win after Denbigh lost yesterday. The leagues in our hands now, win 6 games and we win the league regardless of what they do.
“We’re looking to get the points we need as soon as possible and secure the title in our first season as a side and for myself as manager. I’ve got a great bunch of lads here and a load of quality lads who turn 35 before the end of the season, so we should kick on again next season.”
