Four second half goals secured what in the end proved an emphatic victory for league leaders Airbus.
After kick-off was delayed due to an accident on the A55, the hosts were first to threaten following a quickly taken corner. However, Carl Jones did well to save a powerful low shot from close range.
In the 11th minute, Bangor’s Mason Blackwell-Jones was denied by a good stop from home keeper Keighan Jones.
Moments later a cross from Cai Powell-Roberts just eluded the onrushing Corrig McGonigle.
Midway through the opening period, McGonigle turned provider with a cross from the right but Sam Jones’ glancing header went just past the post.
HALF-TIME: AIRBUS 0-0 BANGOR 1876
In the second period, both sides sought to create openings as the play went from one end to the other.
Shortly before the hour, it was the hosts who took the lead. A cross was swung in from the left by Oliver Lanceley and some indecision at the back post allowed Jordan Evans to poke the ball over the line.
Seven minutes later, the Wingmakers doubled their advantage, Daniel Collins netting with a low shot.
The visitors went close to reducing the deficit when Cai Powell-Roberts played the ball across the face of goal where McGonigle’s shot seemed goalbound before Jones saved on the line.
Bangor continued to press and forced a series of corners after a shot by Blackwell-Jones was deflected into the side netting.
However, the hosts extended their advantage when Craig Lindfield cut in from the left and unleashed a powerful shot.
With five minutes left, Bradley Knight added a fourth.
Bay suffered a disappointing defeat in their battle against relegation at Park Avenue.
Steve Evans’ side slipped into the Cymru Premier bottom two after being leapfrogged by 10-man Aberystwyth, who clinched the points with an early second half goal from Liam Walsh.
Four minutes before the break, Town were a player down after Mark Cadwallader was given a straight red for a late tackle on Tom Creamer.
Aber responded positively when a minute into the second half, Walsh converted the rebound after an Alex Darlington shot came back off the bar.
Bay’s best efforts saw Ugo Akpan blast inches over and Tom McCready rattle the crossbar from a free kick, both in the first half.
Lloyd Marsh-Hughes was a fraction away from equalising with a second half header.
Darlington nearly added a second when he struck the post, while new Aber signing Shaun Cavanagh went desperately close to a debut goal late on.
James Dunserth, Dylan Owens and veteran Wayne Edwards bagged the goals which put Mountain into the next round.
Substitute Joseph Liptrot made it 1-1 on 68 minutes after Dunseath had broken the deadlock with 56 gone.
Owens notched Mountain’s second on 89 and Edwards added the third in stoppage time.
The hosts also had Alex Goundrey sent off a minute past the 90 for a second yellow card.
Joe Jones and Morgan Davies both bagged doubles as Division One leaders Amateurs hit eight without reply against visitors All Stars at the OPS Wind Arena.
Lee Thomas, Mike Chapman, Kyle Johnson and Jordan Tidswell added a goal apiece.
