Midweek previews for JD Cymru North League

This midweek brings three fixtures in the Tier 2 JD Cymru North.

Tonight (Tuesday) Holywell Town will aim to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season when they host Ruthin Town at the Achieve More Stadium (7.30 pm).

The third-place Wellmen’s unbeaten run ended at the 12th hurdle on Saturday when they lost 2-1 at ‘home’ (Deeside Stadium, Connah’s Quay) to leaders Airbus.

Johnny Haseldin’s men are back home tonight with a broken drain at the Achieve More now repeaired.

Ruthin had been struggling of late, but gave themselves a major boost when they whipped Llanidloes Town 6-1 on Saturday, a result which lifted them to 10th.

Also on this evening is a clash at Globe Way between Buckley Town and Llandudno.

Bucks had been on a difficult run before winning 2-0 at Porthmadog on December 9 to reach the Welsh Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

Asa Hamilton’s side followed up with a fine 2-2 draw at Caersws on the weekend.

Much-improved Llandudno have taken 10 points out of a possible last 12, form which earned boss Jordan Hadaway the Cymru North Manager of the Month award for November.

The action continues tomorrow with sixth-place Bangor 1876 hosting Flint Town United, now the only unbeaten side in the Cymru North, lying second after 12 without loss.

Bangor have won their last three league games and were unfortunate to exit the Welsh Cup at the hands of Flint on penalties at Nantporth last month.
