Ardal North East – Penrhyncoch stay top, Bow Street suffer first loss, Builth win in Trophy

ARDAL NORTH EAST – REPORTS NOVEMBER 11

Welshpool Town 1 Llangollen Town 4

A first win in eight matches for Llangollen gifted them out of the Ardal North East’s bottom three.

Without a league victory since early August, things didn’t look too great for Llan at half time with basement boys Welshpool leading through an Ethan Kinsey goal.

However, the visitors took command in the second half, goals from Matt Pleavin, Callum Roberts, Jack Goulboune and Josh Pilgrim making sure they took the points.

Penrhyncoch 3 Rhos Aelwyd 0

Leaders Penrhyncoch scored three without reply at home to Rhos Aelwyd, who now languish in the bottom three having not won in six league attempts.

Jon Evans (2) and Dion Phillips shared the goals for the Roosters.

Radnor Valley 1 Bow Street 0

After going unbeaten in their first eight outings Bow Street lost their first league game of the season.

League newcomers Radnor were the team to do the trick, Taylor Wozencraft getting the only goal of the game to guide Valley into second spot.

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 4 Cefn Albion 1

This turned out to be Neil Ashton’s last game in charge of Albion as he and the club parted company following a disappointing loss in Powys.

Llanrhaeadr led 3-0 at the break thanks to two Billy Clarke goals and one from Matt Evans.

Rob Morris made it four early in the second half with Luke Griffin getting Cefn’s consolation.

Llandrindod Wells 1 Penycae 0

Penycae sit one off the bottom and remain without a league win this season in nine attempts after going down 1-0 at Llandrindod.

A second half goal from Kieran McCarley gave Wells the points.

FAW AMATEUR TROPHY

Undy Athletic 1 Builth Wells 2

Aeron Powell struck at the double to send Builth through to the fourth round of the FAW Trophy, where a trip to Caerleon of the Tier 4 Gwent County League Premier Division awaits.

The Bulls emerged victorious on Saturday in a hard-fought encounter down south at fellow Tier 3 club Undy Athletic of Ardal South East.

Ardal North East travellers Builth scored through Powell on 49 and 54 minutes and 2-0 is how it stayed before Harris Thomas replied for the hosts after 78.
