Llandudno have signed back one of the most promising young forward players in North Wales.

Ella Jones has returned to the Genero Adran North club after a spell with Adran Premier side Wrexham over the summer.

Ella, 19,  scored a sensational 22 goals in 12 matches in her debut season for Llandudno before a bad knee injury in November 2021 against Airbus ended her campaign prematurely.

She was initially ruled out for the rest of the season and had to watch on with a mixture of joy and anguish as her team-mates lifted the tier 2 league title and the North Wales Coast Challenge Cup.

Ella did make a brief comeback in a cup win over Welshpool in February 2022, but was taken off after 30 minutes.

So bad was the injury, Ella missed all of the 2022-23 campaign.

After a long rehabilitation period, the young striker was signed by Wrexham in summer 2023.

This season, she played 30 minutes for Wrexham Under-19’s at Connah’s Quay on October 6, but had seen no action since.

However, with her recovery continuing to progress well, she is expected to be in the Llandudno squad for this Sunday’s crunch Adran North clash with Connah’s Quay Nomads at Nantporth Stadium. Both sides have a 100 percent record so something has to give.

Ella said: “I’ve returned to Llandudno due to wanting more game time to build myself back up after being out for so long.

“My fitness is okay, I’m only allowed to play about 30 minutes at the moment then gradually build myself back up.

“Hopefully, I’ll be in the squad for Sunday versus Connah’s Quay – a big game!”

Ella added: “I signed for Wrexham around July/August time and can’t fault the way they were with me and helping me get back on the pitch. They’ve had a very positive start to the season and I wish them well..

“Llandudno have also started the season off well and I hope to help them maintain that.”

Ella is also renowned for scoring a hat-trick which won Penrhyn Bay the 2018-19 FAW Under-16 Girls Cup Final.
