Kinmel Bay Development 3 Prestatyn Wanderers Reserves 0

Kinmel Bay moved to the top of the league after a three-goal success over Wanderers at the Y Morfa Leisure Centre pitch.

Bay started well with Jacob Jones and Wez Hancocks trying their luck early on.

Wanderers captain Alan Maylor then forced Bay keeper Daz Gunther into a fine save with a shot from around the halfway line tipped over the bar,

The opening goal came in the 20th minute when the talented Jones found last season’s top goal scorer Mark Hughes at the edge of the box. Hughes lobbed the ball over keeper Connor Hughes to put the hosts 1-0 up.

It was 2-0 just before half time, Gunther with a long kick down field, flicked on by Harry Woodfine and Jacob Jones got his 8th goal of the season.

Sixteen year old Owain Roberts came on at half time for Bay and on 56 minutes he controlled a high ball perfectly and slotted home for 3-0.

Both teams made changes in the latter stages and if it wasn’t for Wanderres keeper Hughes, Bay could have scored a fourth, substitute Oliver Burns with a shot from 25 yards tipped around the post.

All-square at Bryniau, where two teams who have started the season pretty well went into battle.

Sion Foulkes put Llanberis ahead in first half injury time, but the talented Thomas Zalot equalised for the Anglesey hosts on the hour.

Trearddur Bay Development 2 CPD Nefyn United – tim datblygu 5

Cracking win for a Nefyn side which ended Trearddur Bay’s perfect start to the season.

Luke Allaway and Rhys Williams gave the Penwaig a flying start with a goal apiece in the opening seven minutes.

Ifan Gwilym Jones made it three on 40 minutes before Jack Cowhig responded just before the interval.

In the second half, Allaway struck twice more to complete his hat-trick, Callum Roberts bagging a late response for Bay, who won their first four league encounters of the season and remain in top spot despite this loss.
