For the second time in a matter of weeks Boded produced late goals to pull off a thrilling win at Cae Clyd.
On July 29, the Anglesey side trailed 1-0 at Blaenau in the Welsh Cup before striking three times in the closing minutes to triumph 3-1.
This weekend league points were at stake, and this time the islanders rallied from two-down to win with two goals deep into added time.
Following a disappointing defeat to Cefni in the FAW Amateur Trophy last week, Boded manager Aron Jones made some changes to his side and stressed the need to bounce back.
It was the visitors that very nearly struck first six minutes in only for Blaenau keeper Bradley Roberts to pull off great saves from Boded’s Rhys Thomas attempts
Boded continued to have chances but it looked like it was going to be one of them afternoons where the ball wouldn’t find the back of the net.
And on 36 minutes the Quarrymen went 1-0 up when a Sion Roberts header found the back of the net.
The start of the second half saw Boded applying pressure, hitting the woodwork on many occasions and missing chances that on any other day would have surely resulted in goals.
As Boded looked for the equaliser Blaenau attacked and took a 2-0 lead on 57 minutes through Iolo Thomas on his debut.
It looked all over for the Anglesey men, Blaenau sitting back trying to protect the lead they surely thought would see them to victory and it looked like Boded were leaving with nothing but a long drive home.
Manager Jones made some changes, bringing on fresh legs in Alfie Dodds and Jordan Rowlands, before in the 86th minute a red card was shown to Blaenau’s Huw Parry and a penalty awarded to Boded.
Up stepped Jordan Taylor to score and make it 2-1.
Play entered the 96th minute when Boded earned a second penalty.
Chris Jones was about to take a shot only to be taken down inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot.
Taylor made no mistake and it was now 2-2. End of the scoring? Not quite.
Eleven minutes over the 90, Chris Jones made a dynamic run and dipped the ball into the box where centre-half Richard Williams was in the correct place to slot in the winner.
Johny Rowlands, part of the Boded management team, said: “Three points well deserved – that will be a tough place to go for other league opponents.
“On another day it could have been much more for Boded only for Blaenau Ffestiniog’s keeper who was brilliant throughout the game and awarded our man of the match for the home side, not to mention the cross bar and posts that will no doubt need checking over in the morning as they were hit so much by Boded!
“A good win on the road and for Boded who are still to suffer defeat in tier 5 in their opening 3 games.”
Man of the Match: Dave Williams (Boded).
