Ynys Môn’s female football heroes reach fifth-sixth place play-off at Island Games

The Ynys Môn women football squad gather before the tournament

Ynys Môn women have finished second in their group at the Island Games football competition in Guernsey and now qualify for the 5th-6th place final – a great achievement.

Dan Gregg’s squad will meet Menorca on Thursday at College Field (2.30 pm) with fifth place at stake.

In today’s final Group 3/C game, the impressive Western Isles whipped Guernsey 6-0 to advance to the semi-finals.

With Môn having defeated Guernsey 3-2 on Monday, they end up second and now meet Menorca, who finished runners-up in Group 2/B, having lost 3-1 to Isle of Man and won 3-2 versus Isle of Wight.
