Island Games football: Can you help us fill gaps?

Is Eifion Williams (left) Ynys Mon’s all-time top goalscorer in the Island Games?

We’ve got Ynys Mon’s football results from every Island Games, but just need to fill a few gaps in the goalscorers column to complete the set.

As there are only a few scorers missing between 1989-2019, it seems a pity to leave it like that.

I’ve tried hard with research, but not yet been able to get a ‘full house’ so to speak.

There’s nothing to lose by putting out an appeal for the missing info, so here goes…..

Ynys Mon have scored 108 goals in the Island Games since 1989 (including the 2019 one-off Inter-Games) and we can account for 99 of them. We have not added the 2023 goals to the list yet.

I’m looking for scorers from the following past Games:

Faroe Islands 1989
Ynys Mon 1 Greenland 0

Isle of Man 1993
Semi-final: Ynys Mon 1 Isle of Wight 1

Guernsey 2003
Saaremaa 0 Ynys Mon 2

Rhodos 2007
Ynys Mon 2 Bermuda 1
Ynys Mon 2 Aland 4
Semi-finals (9-11): Menorca 6 Ynys Mon 1

Rhodos 2007 was not that long ago, but disappointingly the available records do not include many goalscorers.

Perhaps there are players out there reading this who scored in these matches – if so please send me a message.

We have just nine goals to find so here’s hoping. Once I fill all the holes, we can publish a list of all the Anglesey net-finders over the years.

Huge thanks in advance
