JD Welsh Cup first qualifying round draw is made

Tonight saw the draw for the first qualifying round of the 2023-24 JD Welsh Cup made live on the FAW channel RedWall+

It is a great idea to give clubs in the lower tiers of Welsh football a taste of a live draw.

Some cracking ties emerged – including an all-tier 3 clash between promoted Bethesda Athletic and Llanrwst United at Parc Meurig, while Pwllheli and Llangefni Town were paired in another all Ardal North West tussle.

In the North East, Penycae versus Rhostyllen has the makings of a good contest.
