Ten Wrexham AFC Women players have become the first to sign semi-professional contracts with the club.
They are:
Delyth Morgan (Goalkeeper, 27)
Phoebe Davies (Defender, 28)
Erin Lovett (Defender, 20)
Katie Sharp (Defender, 28)
Lili Jones (Defender/Midfielder, 17)
TJ Dickens (Midfielder, 26)
Mari Gibbard (Midfielder, 26)
Rebecca Pritchard (Winger, 26)
Amber Lightfoot (Winger/Striker, 20)
Rosie Hughes (Striker, 27)
The deals form part of Wrexham’s build up for its first season in the Genero Adran Premier.
Last season the club secured promotion after winning all 12 matches to finish top of the tier 2 Genero Adran North League before defeating Briton Ferry Llansawel 1-0 in April’s play-off final.
The Red Dragons also successfully applied for a Tier 1 Licence.
This makes Wrexham the first club in North Wales to have a semi-professional women’s football set-up.
Genero Adran North Player of the Season and Top Goalscorer Rosie Hughes, who hit 42 goals in all competitions and 24 in the league, has signed a two-year contract, as has former Wales Under-17 international and Wrexham’s title-winning Adran U19s North captain Lili Jones.
The rest have all penned one-year deals.
