Connah’s Quay Nomads have re-signed midfield ace Tonicha Jade Dickens five years after she first left the club.

Known as TJ, the 28-year-old spent four full seasons at Wrexham AFC Women before leaving by mutual consent in November 2025.

Dickens first joined Nomads in their debut 2019-20 season, when they reached the Welsh Cup semi-finals and finished runners-up in North Wales League Division Two with an undefeated record.

She moved to Wrexham in 2021 when they were in the Adran North and made 64 appearances during her time with the Red Dragons, scoring ten times – alongside being named as Players’ Player of the Year for 2021/22.

Dickens was a part of the invincible 2022/23 promotion-winners that lifted the Genero Adran North title and subsequently went on to defeat Briton Ferry Llansawel in the play-off final at Latham Park.

The dead-ball specialist made 18 appearances in the Genero Adran Premier. One of her finest moments came in March 2023 when she scored a stunning free-kick against Connah’s Quay Nomads in front of a record-breaking 9,511 crowd at the Racecourse Ground.

The Flintshire-based Dickens was a part of the travelling squad that represented the club during the 2024 Wrex Coast Tour, before sustaining a long-term injury against Portland Thorns at Providence Park.

Two years ago she was one of 10 history-making players to sign semi-professional contracts at Wrexham.

Dickens departed the Red Dragons in late 2025 to continue her rehab from injury

After representing the former Rhyl FC in the Welsh Premier League, Dickens joined newly-formed Connah’s Quay Nomads in 2019-20, scoring in the team’s first-ever game which delivered a 12-0 win.

She netted in the Nomads’ first four matches and scored seven in all during a successful season under Sara Hilton.

After the 2020-21 campaign was wiped out by the pandemic, Dickens then began her five-season association with Wrexham.

Now she is back with a Nomads side looking all but certainties to make it back-to-back Adran North titles.
