Exciting times ahead for Bangor 1876 – here is the latest from the chairman

Although the 2022-23 season recently ended, the hard work continues at Bangor 1876, where exciting times lie ahead.

Club chairman Glynne Roberts reports that while winning promotion to the tier 2 Cymru North last month, then the subsequent news about 1876 being given the go-ahead to play at Nantporth Stadium next season dominates the latest happenings, there is plenty more going on.

Mr Roberts said today: “Although the 22-23 season has ended, work is progressing well to plan for our first season in Tier 2.

“We rounded off last season in style with the end-of-season presentation evening. Not surprisingly, the three main awards – top scorer, players’ player and supporters’ player all ended up on Corrig’s (top scorer McGonigle) mantlepiece! Additional supporters’ awards to Huw Pritchard and Phil Roberts were also richly deserved, and shows how fortunate we are to have such a loyal and passionate group of supporters.

“We also have a new kit on order, and replica shirts will be available soon.”

Manager: Michael Johnston

As for the latest news from manager Michael Johnston, Mr Roberts added: “Johno is working hard behind the scenes to look at his squad requirements for next season, and there will be some announcements soon on the new acquisitions.

“The biggest announcement so far this pre-season is that we have reached agreement with Nantporth CIC to play at the stadium next season. The CIC have a number of ambitious plans to develop Nantporth, and, along with Bangor Women’s, we hope to make it our home for many seasons to come.

“The future is exciting, and we can now plan with confidence to ensure that football in Bangor has a long and sustainable future. Nantporth has the potential to be the best stadium in the whole of the Welsh pyramid system, and we look forward to working with the CIC to ensure that it achieves that status.

“Pre-season friendlies are also being arranged, and we hope that some of these can be played at Nantporth.

“To make the future sustainable for us, we need to ensure that we have the necessary resources to compete. Please renew your season tickets and membership. Encourage friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to become members.

“Let’s aim to have the highest number of members we’ve ever had, and to go into the new season prepared, confident and enthusiastic. Details of how to renew membership online, as well as how to order season tickets can be found at: https://www.bangor1876.com/payments

Diweddariad gan Glynne Roberts (Cymraeg)

“Er bod y tymor 22-23 wedi dod i ben, mae gwaith yn cychwyn i gynllunio ar gyfer ein tymor cyntaf yn Haen 2.

“Daeth y tymor diwethaf i ben mewn steil gyda’r noson wobrwyo diwedd tymor. Dim syndod i neb fod y tair prif wobr – y prif sgoriwr, chwaraewr y chwaraewyr a chwaraewr y cefnogwyr – i gyd wedi cyrraedd mantell Corrig! Roedd gwobrau cefnogwyr ychwanegol i Huw Pritchard a Phil Roberts hefyd yn gwbl haeddiannol, ac mae’n dangos pa mor ffodus ydyn ni i gael criw mor ffyddlon ac angerddol o gefnogwyr.

“Mae Johno yn gweithio’n galed y tu ôl i’r llenni i edrych ar ofynion ei garfan ar gyfer y tymor nesaf, a bydd rhai cyhoeddiadau yn fuan ar y chwaraewyr newydd.

“Mae gennym hefyd git newydd ar archeb, a bydd atgynhyrchiadau o grysau ar gael yn fuan.

“Y cyhoeddiad mwyaf hyd yn hyn cyn y tymor newydd yw ein bod wedi dod i gytundeb gyda CIC Nantporth i chwarae yn y stadiwm y tymor nesaf. Mae gan y CIC nifer o gynlluniau uchelgeisiol i ddatblygu Nantporth, ac, ynghyd â Merched Bangor, rydym yn gobeithio ei wneud yn gartref i ni am sawl tymor i ddod.

“Mae’r dyfodol yn gyffrous, a gallwn gynllunio’n hyderus i sicrhau bod gan bêl-droed ym Mangor ddyfodol hir a chynaliadwy. Mae gan Nantporth y potensial i fod y stadiwm orau yn holl system byramid Cymru, ac rydym yn edrych ymlaen at weithio gyda’r CIC i sicrhau ei fod yn cyrraedd y statws hwnnw.

“Mae gemau cyfeillgar cyn y tymor hefyd yn cael eu trefnu, a gobeithiwn y bydd modd chwarae rhai o’r rhain yn Nantporth.

“Er mwyn gwneud y dyfodol yn gynaliadwy i ni, mae angen inni sicrhau bod gennym yr adnoddau angenrheidiol i gystadlu. Adnewyddwch eich tocynnau tymor ac aelodaeth. Anogwch ffrindiau, teulu, cymdogion a chydweithwyr i ddod yn aelodau.

“Gadewch i ni anelu at gael y nifer uchaf erioed o aelodau, a mynd i mewn i’r tymor newydd yn barod, hyderus a brwdfrydig. Ceir manylion am sut i adnewyddu aelodaeth ar-lein, yn ogystal â sut i archebu tocynnau tymor yn: https://www.bangor1876.com/payments
