Kirstie Kural will leave Connah’s Quay Nomads with a heavy heart

Midfield magician Kirstie Kural has announced she is leaving Connah’s Quay Nomads.

One of the most outstanding performers to grace the tier 2 Genero Adran North since its inception, Kirstie has netted 59 goals in the past two seasons for the Nomads.

As captain, she has played a pivotal part in the Deesiders winning back-to-back NEWFA Challenge Cups, as well as finishing runners-up in the Adran North this season.

The 34-year-old revealed on social media today that she is departing the Quay “to play at a higher level.”

No new club has yet been announced, but there is plenty of speculation flying around about Wrexham AFC Women signing her to strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead in the Genero Adran Premier next season.

Speaking after winning the cup with Nomads yesterday, Kirstie today Tweeted: “What a brilliant way to end my 2 years at the nomads!

“I’ve made the tough decision to play elsewhere next year, but this is by no means a reflection on the club, it’s my own ambitions of playing at a higher level next season!

“I’ve made friends for life❤️

Kirstie netted 59 times in 44 appearances since joining Connah’s Quay at the start of last season.

She was due to continue as captain next season, as well as manage the Nomads Under-19’s, but the situation has now changed.

Success is no stranger to a midfield maestro who has represented Manchester City and won the North Wales League title with Northop Hall.

She has also played for Aston Park, Wrexham, Chester and Ellesmere Port.

In futsal, she has been a prolific goalscorer for Cheshire in the National Series and a key performer for Wrexham.

Kirstie was recently player of the match when Connah’s Quay took on Wrexham in front of 9,511 spectators and live TV cameras at the Racecourse.

Although Wrexham won 2-1 and lifted the Genero Adran North championship trophy they had secured earlier in the month, Kirstie stole the show on the day with a tireless midfield display which won her high praise from TV commentator, Judge Nic Parry.
