Still a few games to go before the Goalden Girl says goodbye

With quite a few North Wales Women’s League matches still to be played this month, we are not really that near to closing off the Goalden Girl chart for 2022-23.

One thing which looked pretty certain is Rosie Hughes of Wrexham AFC Women will finish top for a second season running, unless there is a deluge of goals in the closing matches from one of her rivals.

Kirstie Kural of Connah’s Quay Nomads has netted a fantastic 33 goals from midfield, but would need to score 10 in the NEWFA Challenge Cup Final against Airbus later this month to pass Rosie’s 42.

We would put nothing past Kirstie – she is undoubtedly our North Wales Player of the Season.

Sade Benjamin of NFA and Llangefni Town’s Jen Cox still have a possible three matches apiece left, so both could still make the 30 goals mark.
