North Wales Fury netball squad is announced – and Pwllheli youngster Cassie Ogilvy lands a coveted place

Cassie Ogilvy has won a place in the new North Wales Fury netball squad which will compete in the new National League. Llun: Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor – diolch

The new North Wales Fury netball team have picked an 18-player squad for the forthcoming National League campaign.

They include Cassie Ogilvy, 18, a player with Clwb Pêlrwyd Pwllheli, who has represented Welsh Colleges.

Goal Attack (GA) or Goal Shooter (GS) Cassie has also played for the North Wales Talent Centre and North West County and is a student at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor.

She is the youngest player in the North Wales Fury squad.

Cassie is also a member of the Colegau Cymru netball team, and was the winner of the Robin Llŷr Evans Memorial Shield at the Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor awards ceremony in 2022.

Rhodri Scott, sports lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, said: “It has been extremely nice to see Cassie’s success, not only on the netball court but also in the classroom.

“She gives 100% to everything. This recent success is going to be an amazing experience for her, getting to play for the North West Wales regional team against some of the best teams and players in the country”

He added: “Cassie is the first student from Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor to be selected, she is also the youngest person ever to play for ‘North Wales Fury’, which puts her incredible success in context.”
