North Wales Coast West Premier Division champions at the first attempt – llongyfarchiadau i Bethesda Athletic

Bethesda Athletic clinched back-to-back promotions as they were crowned tier 4 North West Coast West Premier Division champions on Saturday.

It is a fantastic feat for Mark Hughes’ side, who last season sealed elevation to the Premier as Division One runners-up and also landed a first trophy in 13 years in lifting the League Cup.

Now they have won a league championship for the first time since Chris O’Neal Pesda all-stars finished top of the Welsh Alliance in 2008/09.

The current Bethesda squad is packed with young talent, while also having the benefit of some seasoned campaigners. The management team includes Mark N Hughes, Geraint Jones and Mark Thomas – all offering a wealth of experience.

Saturday saw Athletic secure the title by stretching their unbeaten run in the league to nine games – seven wins – with a 3-0 home beating of Aberffraw.

Kyle Hartleb put the hosts in front on 27 minutes and it remained 1-0 to half time.

Scott Hughes doubled the lead in the 52nd minute and 17-year-old sensation Noa Hughes rounded things off two over the 90 with a cracking goal – a stunning, dipping free kick from about 35 yards.

Daniel Hughes was named man of the match.
