Strengths to your play

My height definitely helps when the ball is in the air, I’d say I’m determined and brave on the pitch and my fitness helps a lot.

Weaknesses in your play

I’m not very good at fancy footwork

How do you feel Llangefni Town’s second season in the North Wales Women’s League is going so far?

I think we are doing well and have put in some cracking performances.

Do you feel you are much improved as a team from last season? What has caused the differences?

Without a doubt, the improvement is out of this world. We are a very close team, which reflects in the chemistry we have during our matches. We have come so far, and still have so much more to give.

What has been the team’s best performance this season?

Tough choice so I’ve had to pick two – Amlwch (3-2) at home was a brilliant derby game, but NFA away (3-3) showed what this team is made of, equalising and getting a point with a player down was incredible.

And the worst performance?

I’d say Bangor 1876 away. We had played 4 games in 2 weeks and I think that had taken its toll.

Best team faced this season?

Bangor 1876

Personal highlight of this season so far

I’d say getting the perfect hat-trick against Caernarfon – Header, Left foot and Right foot.

Which Llangefni team-mate has impressed you most?

Ellie (9) celebrates a goal with the ever-smiling Ffion Thomas

Ffion Thomas, she just keeps getting better. Her work-rate of tracking back to defend whilst being so dangerous in front of goal.

How do you rate your own form this season, especially the very good goals tally of 11 you’ve scored.

I’ve improved a lot this season, My fitness and confidence has improved and playing the number 10 position suits me to the ground.

What do you think of the overall standard of your league?

I’d say it’s a pretty good standard, the quality and quantity of teams in the league is great.

What are your hopes for the remainder of the season?

Personally, I would like to score a few more goals, but as a team I’m hoping we can contend for a top 4 finish in the league.

How would you like to see Llangefni Town Ladies progress in the future?

As long as we keep improving like we have been I’d like to think that we would be contending for the league title next season.

Just something slightly different to finish, your love of horses is well known, can you tell us a little about your experiences in the equine world? How long have you been riding? Which is or was your favourite horse? Any competitions you’ve won…

Is it really important to have football and horses both in your life, from the point of view it gives you variation and different experiences?

Ellie indulges in her other sporting passion – dressage

I’ve ridden horses all my life, it used to be my main job, riding and competing for other people. Since graduating I’ve gone into a full-time job, so now it is just a hobby. I had 5 horses at one point, but I have downsized to a more manageable amount of 2 now. My favourite horse has to be Milo. I’ve had him for 14 years and we have done everything and more, including winning big county shows, competing at Royal Welsh and Under 25’s dressage championships.

Yes I love my football family, but I also love the horse world, including Royal Welsh. It is two totally different types of exercise too so I think that helps with overall fitness, especially with all the mucking out in winter. Unfortunately for my liver both come with great social sides and great drinking friends.
