Great news for Caernarfon Town’s women’s team on the signings front – a club legend has returned to The Oval.
Sioned Bohana has rejoined the Canaries after a spell at fellow North Wales Women’s League club Pwllheli.
The 33-year-old defender has enjoyed much success with Caernarfon in the past, including winning the league and cup double in 2016-17.
Mother-of-three Sioned has recently returned to training after giving birth to a baby daughter at the end of 2022.
Caernarfon captain Sara Williams welcomed back her long-time friend, saying: “Sioned is a very experienced player who will bring a lot to the team and we’re glad to have her on board with us.”
Town are bottom of the North Wales League, but their performances in recent months are much improved on earlier in the season.
Getting Sioned into the squad will only benefit the youngsters who can learn a lot from her.
A tough-tackling defender, Sioned has spent the majority of her football career with Caernarfon, having started playing the game in her years at Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen.
She was a member of Town’s mighty 2016-17 North Wales Women’s League title-winning side, scoring a hat-trick in one game, and represented the Cofis on numerous occasions in the Welsh Premier.
In December 2019, she rejoined former Canaries team-mates Katie Bowe, Elena Julio, Danielle Barnfield, Kim Broadbent, Sara Williams and Catrin Thomas in a move to Mountain Rangers.
She was not at Cae Gors too long. The 2019-20 season was shortened due to Covid and 2020-21 was cancelled completely for the same reason.
Sioned joined Pwllheli in 2021-22 and represented the team in the tier 2 Genero Adran North. She later needed time out for her pregnancy but is now looking forward to a return in the yellow and green.
