Choosing the Grassroots North Wales Clwb y Mis/Club of the Month for February has been the hardest task yet since we started the feature this season.

So many teams stood out, but in the end we’ve gone for a brand new club whose debut season has the potential to turn into something special.

The Chwefror/February Clwb y Mis/Clwb of the Month is BOW FC of the North Wales Coast East Division One,

The Prestatyn-based tier 5 newcomers kicked off February with a 6-0 league thrashing of Rhyl All Stars.

On the 11th, James Benbow and Nick Jones’ men travelled to Ynys Môn and reached the NWCFA Junior Cup semi-finals with a 1-0 win at Llanfairpwll, youngster Loui O’Carroll with the late deciding goal.

Bow then triumphed 6-1 at Rhyl Dragons before rounding off the month with an amazing 2-0 result at Llandudno Amateurs, ending the hosts’ two-season unbeaten home record in the league.

At the end of February, Bow are second in the table and into the Junior Cup semis, where they face Division One leaders Abergele next month.

Un-BOW-lieveable!

HOLYWELL TOWN

No-one could have denied the Wellmen a second Clwb y Mis award.

They began February with a narrow and controversial 2-1 loss at Cymru Premier Penybont in the Welsh Cup quarter-finals.

Johnny Haseldin’s side then boosted their remarkable run of victories in the Cymru North to 20 by beating Mold Alexandra (2-0), Guilsfield (4-0), Buckley Town (2-0), Prestatyn Town (1-0) and Cefn Druids (4-0). They have not conceded a league goal in nine matches – 810 minutes plus stoppages.

And Town finished the month by whipping Brickfield Rangers 6-0 to enter the NEWFA Challenge Cup semis.

What a team! Normally they’d have walked this month’s award, but we do like to spread the glory around a bit and February was an opportunity to highlight a great tier 5 achievement.

COLWYN BAY

HAWARDEN RANGERS

Although near the bottom of tier 3 Ardal North West, Hawarden’s first team picked up two well-deserved victories in February over Llandudno Albion (2-1) and Nantlle Vale (2-0).

And it was 3 from 3 for both the Reserves and Development sides, making it a great month for the whole club.

In the FAW Reserve League, Hawarden defeated Gresford Athletic and Mold Alex 3-1 and Brickfield Rangers 3-0.

The Development side excelled in the cups. In the Flintshire Youth League U19 Challenge Cup, Rangers knocked out Coedpoeth United 4-3 and Brymbo Lodge 5-0, plus Saltney Town on penalties in the NEWFA Male Youth Cup.
