Sunday League – Top two share the spoils, Mally hit double figures, Y Clwb edge past Wanderers

RHYL AND DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE – FEBRUARY 12, 2023
Royal Oak 1 (Dardan Hoxha)
Conwy Comrades 1 (Jamie Haggas)

The battle of the top two sides in the Sunday League ended all-square on the Reso.
Comrades lost their 100 percent record, but will see an away draw against such tough opponents as a point gained.
However, on chances created, Conwy really should have claimed the win. It was one of those very rare days where the Comrades did not quite fire in front of goal.
It was end to end action for the first 30 with both sides creating chances, but Oak struck first through Dardan Hoxha following a bit of lax defending from the visitors.

Comrades came out for the second half looking a lot sharper and knocking the ball around well.
Persistence paid off when Jack Kearney played a brilliant ball into Jamie Haggas, who took it down and slotted home.
Comrades continued to search for a winner but great saves and poor finishing saw the points shared in a good match between the sides.

Y Clwb 2 (Howard Vaughan, Dion Lloyd)
Prestatyn Wanderers 1 (Tyler Donnelly)
Another good contest with Glan Conwy side Y Clwb edging it.
The first half saw Wanderers produce a very strong display and they were to rue missed chances.
After the hosts made changes at the break they were a much more dynamic force from the restart.
Veteran Howard Vaughan put them ahead and Dion Lloyd made it two.
Prestatyn replied through Tyler Donnelly, who ran across a defender and volleyed into the far corner of the net from a Matty Robinson free kick.
Y Clwb defended really well in the second half and Wanderers were unable to find an equaliser.

Rhyl Rangers 2 (Joe Carter, Cory McHale)
FC Mally 11 (Lee Ellis 3, John Evans, Paddy Hamid, Adam Hold 2, Joey Jennings, Mike Lundstram, Bradlee Rowlands, Benn Lundstram)

Mally hit double figures in a ruthless performance at the Reso in Rhyl.
Lee Ellis revived memories of glory days gone by in a Mally shirt by notching a hat-trick, while top-scorer Adam Hold added a double.
There were single goals from John Evans, Paddy Hamid, Joey Jennings, Mike Lundstram, Bradlee Rowlands and Benn Lundstram.
Joe Carter and Cory McHale responded for the home side.
