Tier 5 club Aston Park Rangers had a busy January in the transfer market

Aston Park Rangers are having a good season on their return to the North East Wales Football League.

The Shotton-based club currently sit third in the tier 5 Championship division.

Rangers are managed by Chris Foster, whose backroom team comprises: Karl Bacon – assistant manager, Arran Whitehouse – GK coach, Tony Jones – coach and Jameson Hogg – physio.

The club has also been busy in the January transfer market, having dealt with the disappointment of 25-goal top-scorer Kallum Pierce joining tier 3 Hawarden Rangers.

Here is a rundown on their recent signings.

Ashley Davies

The centre half brings with him a wealth of experience having joined from Holywell Town Reserves. Previously spent time with Greenfield.

Jordan Howell

Striker Howell is a welcome addition to Chris Foster’s squad, bolstering the forward line following the exit of Kallum Pierce.

Jordan has previously played at New Brighton Villa, FC United of Wrexham, but most recently having joined Aston from FC Farndon.

Michael Woodward

Woody’s resume speaks for itself having spent time at Hawarden Rangers, FC Nomads, Connah’s Quay Town and Mold Alexandra to name a few.

The midfielder returns to boyhood club Aston Park Rangers after a short hiatus following knee surgery.

Tom Hooson

Goalkeeper Hooson joins Aston Park’s keepers union having spent time at Caerwys, Rhydymwyn and Connah’s Quay Town.

Local lad Hooson said when signing “I can’t wait to get started. I can see what is being built here at Aston and am glad to be a part of it.”

Jameson Hogg

American national Jameson Hogg has signed for Aston Park and strengthens the midfield. Jameson has spent the last 2 seasons with Holywell Town Reserves having joined them from Vauxhall Motors

Jack Gregory

Defender Gregory joins Aston’s back line.

The strong centre half brings with him a wealth of experience and rejoins former team-mates brothers Tony and Lewis Jones having previously played at New Brighton Villa, Hawarden Rangers and the now defunct Mold Town United.
