Two goals from one of Ynys Môn’s finest Dewi Thomas guided Llangefni to a fantastic victory over an in-form Flint Mountain side which had won seven games on the bounce.
Cefni made it three wins in four league outings as their ever-improving campaign saw them rise up to ninth in the table.
Leading the way was hero Dewi Thomas, the former Llannerchymedd, Holyhead Hotspur, Amlwch Town and Porthmadog star, who has given the Llangefni squad a massive boost since joining the club in September.
Thomas, 28, is now on five goals for James Saxon’s side this season.
Cefni took a 26th minute lead when Thomas produced a nice turn in the box to smash in the opener.
Mountain levelled matters close to half time when Kyle Smith converted a penalty to make it 16 goals this term in all competitions.
Things were well balanced at half time, but soon after the restart, the lively Thomas beat the Mountain offside trap and quick feet enabled him to pass a defender and slot home to edge Llangefni back ahead.
The home side pressed hard for an equaliser, but Town defended well and held on for all three points – a perfect gift ahead of their Christmas night out!
Hope you had a good evening on (or with) the Pys bois!
