It has been more than 12 weeks since we chose 12 players to watch in the Adran North and North Wales Women’s leagues for the 2022-23 season.

Let’s see how our choices are getting on.

We award each player a Christmas bell based on their 2022-23 season form so far:

πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” 6 bells – Ayeeennnnnnnng! You are the belle of the (foot) ball scene!

πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” 5 bells – so awesome! Go out there and win the medals you deserve in 2023

πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” 4 bells – great season so far, so much promise. Now go on and be even greater in 2023

πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” 3 bells – you are ace but there’s room for improvement in 2023

πŸ””πŸ”” 2 bells – have you thought about taking up rugby?

πŸ”” 1 bell – you might struggle to get in the team ahead of Belle Dingle at the moment!

MEET THE DYNAMIC DOZEN

Ellie Sian Jones (Amlwch Town)

Ellie began the season in great form with four goals in her opening two games.

She has been an ever-present for an Amlwch side which has suffered from a lack of action through numerous postponements.

It has been a mixed start to date for the Anglesey team, although recent wins over NFA and Trearddur Bay were very pleasing.

Ellie will be an important player for sure in 2023.

Erin Doran (Llandudno)

This 16-year-old midfielder’s eight first team appearances have all been as a substitute and the fact Llandudno do not have an under-19 side affects her potential minutes.

Nonetheless, her performances to date have been steady and she remains one of the most promising talents at the club.

Ava Suckley (Wrexham AFC Women)

With 11 straight wins in all competitions, Wrexham are flying – and so is Ava Suckley.

The former Wales Under-17 international and Stoke City prospect has already scored eight goals in five Genero Adran North appearances, and 10 in all competitions for the first team.

Ava has also banged in 14 goals in six games for the Under-19s. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Elana Harley (Connah’s Quay Nomads)

Seventeen-year-old dazzler Elana has scored a tremendous 10 goals in seven outings for the Under-19s, but is also taking her opportunities with the first team as well.

She has helped Nomads reach the Genero Adran Trophy quarter-finals, netting a hat-trick in a 9-2 win over Felinheli and struck twice in a 6-2 Welsh Cup success against Llanfair United.

Elana has pocketed 15 goals in 14 appearances across the seniors and under-19s. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Steph Farley (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

After starting the season at Denbigh Town, Steph returned to Rhyl 1879 in October.

She is facing a battle to win back her previous regular position in the centre of defence and to date has featured in eight matches for 1879, experiencing four wins and four defeats.

Her ability will no doubt prove valuable as the season goes on. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Lauren (Loz) Jones (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Has featured in 10 games for Rhyl 1879’s first team but is facing a battle for the No 1 shirt with Bethan Thomas, who joined the club in October.

Loz has been getting game time with the under-19s and occasionally shares the first team action with Thomas.

She remains a reliable and excellent goalkeeper always capable of doing a solid job. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Hana Wellings (Llanystumdwy)

Captain Hana has been a winner in her last three matches for Llanystumdwy and no-one has played better in the team’s recent revival.

The 29-year-old has scored three times in seven games and is always an inspirational player to have around. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Zoe Stopford (NFA)

She is proving an excellent signing for an NFA side which is, as expected, flying high in the North Wales Women’s League.

This polished performer with Welsh Premier experience has netted six times in 10 appearances and picked up a few player of the match awards. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Ellie Coulson (Llangefni Town)

Striker Ellie is in fantastic form up front for Llangefni this season, with seven goals in six league games under her belt.

Her partnership with Jen Cox in attack is flourishing, producing 19 goals in all matches to date.

Ellie is so much more than just a goalscorer.πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Jenna Allsup (CPDM Bangor 1876)

Jenna has been superb in a more attacking role with undefeated North Wales League leaders Bangor 1876 this season.

Previously mainly a defender in successful spells with Caernarfon Town, Bethesda Athletic and Bethel, Jenna is operating in an advanced position this term and has collected eight league goals in 10 matches. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Jordan Roberts (CPD Y Felinheli)

This gifted young player’s best moment to date was scoring twice in her team’s 4-3 win over CPD Y Rhyl 1879 – their first and only victory of the campaign.

Unfortunately, Felinheli’s results have not been great and a lack of games has also affected Jordan’s stats.

But she is a brilliant performer who will surely come good when she gets a proper run of matches. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””

Georgia Spibey (Airbus)

Georgia has provided Airbus with their season’s highlight so far – scoring a hat-trick in their 3-2 Adran Trophy victory over Y Felinheli on October 30.

She has played in eight first team matches to date for the Wingmakers, who are finding life hard in Genero Adran North.

Georgia will be aiming to lead her new team to better results in 2023. πŸ””πŸ””πŸ””
