Cara Marie set for first start this season as Llangefni take on impressive newcomers Llanfairfechan

This weekend Cara Marie Hughes is set to make her first start for Llangefni Town since undergoing an operation in June.

Defender/utility player Cara is in line to feature in the Cefni squad to take on Llanfairfechan Town at Cae Bob Parry on Sunday (2 pm kick off).

Cara did not have much competitive football experience when she joined Llangefni in summer 2021, but she has adapted to the game like a duck to water.

Manager Dan Gregg reports the consistent Marissa George will unfortunately miss out due to a knee injury. Ffion Owen and Alice Pascal return to the squad.

This will be a big test for Llangefni with league newcomers Llanfairfechan having made a great start to the season, sitting fourth at present with four wins and a draw in nine outings.

Cefni are coming off the back of an impressive 4-1 win over Northop Hall last weekend.

“We want more of the same,” said Dan. “The girls really responded well last Sunday and we’re aiming for back-to-back home wins, but we’re aware of the good start Llanfairfechan have made and expect a big test.”
