Two in-form sides in the Cymru North meet on Friday night when fourth-place Prestatyn Town host a Llandudno side riding high in third spot.
This game will have little more edge to it than a normal top of the table clash as Prestatyn recently beat Llandudno 2-0, also at Bastion Gardens, in the Welsh Cup.
Town have won four games on the bounce, while since that cup loss, Tudno have recorded three straight victories, notching 10 goals in the process.
Llandudno manager Sean Eardley said the determination is high in the Maesdu Park camp to avoid a repeat of the last meeting with Prestatyn.
“We knew the feeling in the dressing room after last time was one we didn’t want again,” added Eardley. “We’ll leave everything out there to make sure that experience doesn’t happen again.”
After six league games without a win – five of them defeats – Buckley picked up a much-needed victory at the expense of next-to-bottom Gresford.
The visitors created plenty of chances in the first half, with Sam Spridgeon almost grabbing the opener in the 16th minute after his touch took the ball past James McHarrie in the Buckley goal, but his shot was cleared off the line.
In the 37th minute, McHarrie made a succession of great saves before Athletic’s Rhys Williams produced a marvellous stop at the other end.
Just before the break, Buckley took the lead when Asa Hamilton’s corner was headed in by Keiron Moore.
The second half started out as all Gresford, Dominic Deacon doing brilliantly to get the ball into the path of Spridgeon in the box, but his shot was well saved.
Paul Johnson’s decent long-range effort in the 55th minute was again thwarted by McHarrie.
Gresford did equalise, however, with Spridgeon putting a penalty into the top-left corner on 69 minutes.
Buckley regained their lead in the 79th minute, Hamilton racing into the box and from an angle slotting past Williams.
Three minutes remained when Town scored their third goal through a mighty Jake Roberts header from a set-piece.
Gresford grabbed a deserved consolation when George Macready scored with a bicycle kick in the 89th minute.
Goals from Zebb Edwards and Danny Sullivan ensured Holywell made it nine straight league wins and remained level on points with leaders Colwyn Bay.
The hosts controversially had Jake Cooke red-carded on 32 minutes.
Edwards broke the deadlock on 28 minutes when he headed home a great cross from Ilan ap Gareth.
Sullivan rose to nod in Danny Andrews’ free kick in the 57th minute and make it 2-0.
Mold applied late pressure, but found Wellmen keeper Keighan Jones unbeatable.
Druids returned to winning ways in style, taking the lead after five minutes when Adam Stephens tapped in a low cross at the far post.
In the 24th minute, Josh Roseberry-Beamond cut inside from the right flank and found the bottom corner with a well-placed strike.
Just before half time, Callum Stephens curled a brilliant effort into the top corner from the edge of the area.
Penrhyncoch pulled one back on 61 minutes. A free kick hit the crossbar, then the follow up did likewise before the ball eventually went in off Cefn player Phil Mooney.
Druids kept their composure and it was not long before Danny Edwards struck a fine volley from the edge of the box to make it 4-1.
Goals from James Kirby, Matty Hill, Lewis Sirrell and a Sam Rickett own goal clinched maximum points for undefeated leaders Colwyn Bay.
Joe Sullivan bagged a consolation for Ruthin.
Two late goals from Jamie McDaid, the second three minutes over the 90, secured three vital points for Porthmadog.
Experienced hitman Jamie Breese grabbed a double to earn Llanidloes a point at Guilsfield.
Steve Blenkinsop and Ben Woollam both struck in the first half for Guils, who had Josh Astley red-carded in the 59th minute when they were 2-1 up.
