Two goals from evergreen veteran Laura Williams put CPD Y Rhyl 1879 on the way to their first win in the Genero Adran North.

The deadlock was broken on 34 minutes when visiting skipper Rachael Thomas broke down the wing, entered the penalty box and was brought down.

A penalty was awarded and Laura Williams sent a powerful shot into the bottom corner.

Ceri Purvis equalised for the home side, but in first half added time Williams headed home a Thomas corner to make it 2-1 Rhyl at the break.

Four minutes into the second half, Rachael Thomas put the away side further ahead with a trademark free kick which flew in over the keeper’s head.

And on the hour, it was Thomas again with the assist, her corner being headed powerfully in by Rebecca Bannister.

Tiffany Sands and Purvis produced two quick replies for the Wingmakers and suddenly the final outcome was in doubt.

Rhyl could finally relax a bit more in the 84th minute when a Thomas free kick was cleared to Tegan Crockett, who slotted home.

Nomads are top of the Genero Adran North table after second-half goals from Tamara Hamer and Kirstie Kural clinched victory over Llanfair.

Kural set the ball rolling by making it 1-0 in the fifth minute and Jennifer Haynes doubled the home score on 16.

Improved Llanfair pulled one back before the break, Mary Griffiths setting up Sarah Ellis to score.

Wrexham maintained their 100 percent record in all competitions this season with a big win over defending champions Llandudno at Ponciau Banks.

Taking on her former club, top-scorer Rosie Hughes put Wrexham ahead in the ninth minute from a penalty she earned herself.

Two minutes later, Hughes set up Lili Jones to double the lead.

Llandudno rallied, with Louisha Doran beating two defenders before rifling high into the net in the 17th minute.

Mia Roberts cleared off the line on 22 minutes to deny Tudno an equaliser.

The next goal threatened to be vital and it was Wrexham who got it on the stroke of half time.

Hughes pounced on the long ball forward and finished well for her 11th goal of the season.

Wrexham started the second half well, Amber Lightfoot and TJ Dickens both clattering the bar from free kicks.

The points were all but sealed when substitute Ava Suckley made it 4-1 on 56 minutes.

Maddie Williams headed in from Mari Gibbard’s inch-perfect cross on 62 minutes to reduce the deficit.

But three minutes later, Hughes squared for Suckley to score again.

That was the end of the scoring. The 5-2 outcome was harsh on Llandudno, who found home keeper Delyth Morgan in fine form.
