Chirk AAA Reserves 2 Brickfield Rangers Reserves 1
Chirk opened up their league campaign with a slender win over a young, enthusiastic Bricky team that gave as good as they got for most of the game.
The Colliers took the lead after just two minutes, Steve Roberts firing in from 10 yards following a free kick.
It didn’t take long for Rangers to equalise with striker Oscar Egerton firing home a good goal on the break.
Both teams laboured for the remainder of the half and it was the introduction of substitute Harvey Edwards at the break that changed the game.
Edwards ran through on 57 minutes to confidently score past keeper James McHugh to seal the points.
Flint Town United Reserves 1 Penycae Reserves 4
Penycae took the points thanks to goals from Evan Woodall, Callum Dutton, Josh Mazzarella and Gary Evans. Harvey Drazdauskas gave the Silkmen the lead, but the away team turned the tables.
Rhydymwyn Development 1 Holywell Town Development 3
Joe Jones, Sam Ashworth and Luke Wiltshire scored the goals which bagged the points for the Wellmen, substitute Harry Roberts replying late on.
Ruthin Town Reserves 3 Denbigh Town Reserves 0
Three points and a clean sheet to start the season for Ruthin in this Vale of Clwyd derby.
In a fiercely competitive encounter at times, the hosts took the lead when a Dafydd Evans run was stopped by a Denbigh player but in making the tackle he found his own net.
Ruthin went further ahead when good work from Robbie Williams and Ioz Jones led to Sion Davies finishing from six yards.
Williams scored a penalty early in the second half to finish the game.
