The man who led Gresford Athletic Reserves to the FAW Cymru Reserve League North East title last season has been appointed new manager of tier 3 club Rhostyllen.
Paul Gray stepped down from his role at Gresford after guiding them to championship success in 2021-22.
He now steps up in class to Ardal North West and takes charge at Rhostyllen, replacing Warren Aykroyd-Duckett, who left the club last month.
Former Bala Town, Lex XI, Denbigh Town, Cefn Druids and Porthmadog midfielder Duckett took on the Rhostyllen job in May 2019 and led them to 10th place in the newly-formed Ardal North West last term.
New man Gray is a very experienced coach. He will be joined at the Recreational Ground by long-serving assistant-manager Ian Jones.
A Rhostyllen FC statement said: “Paul has had numerous offers over the summer and we’re very pleased he has joined Rhostyllen FC.
“His vision and ambition matches the club’s and we look forward to seeing the team in action under his leadership.”
On the departure of Aykroyd-Duckett, the club earlier commented: “We would like to wish Warren all the best moving forward and extend our sincere thanks for the amazing job he has done over the last few years.
“He worked closely with the committee to help the club achieve tier 3 status, his commitment and passion for the club has been infectious and will never be forgotten.”
